Terri Stearn, ASA, ISA AM
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL APPRAISER
Terri is an accredited fine art appraiser with over 25 years of experience in the Detroit art community. A BFA graduate in painting and art history from Eastern Michigan University, she previously served as Director of three Metro Detroit galleries, curating nearly 50 exhibitions. Terri holds accreditations from both the American Society of Appraisers and the International Society of Appraisers. She also serves on several arts-related boards, including Michigan State University’s Hillel, and is a long-time volunteer at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Trista Maltby, MA, ISA
ISA ASSOCIATE MEMBER, ASSOCIATE APPRAISER
Trista combines more than a decade of global art market experience with a passion for accessibility and education. With a BA in Art History from Kendall College and a Master’s in Art from Marist–LdM in Florence, Italy, Trista has worked in museums, conducted art auctions worldwide, and developed original museum programs in Europe. She specializes in working with collectors at all levels and is a member of the International Society of Appraisers.
Ashley Gold
JEWELRY APPRAISER
Ashley is an expert in fashionable and fine jewelry with a GD in diamonds from the Gemological Institute of America and a degree from Michigan State’s Broad College of Business. Formerly the GM of one of America’s largest jewelry businesses, she became a TV personality through Hardcore Pawn, which aired 170 episodes. Ashley now leads AshleyGold.com and brings her expertise in estate and luxury jewelry appraisals to our team. She is a recognized media expert featured on CNN, GMA, and more.
Ilene Kahan
APPRAISER & MARKETING DIRECTOR
Ilene brings over 30 years of marketing experience and a sharp eye for design to her role at Detroit Fine Art Appraisals. A BFA graduate from the Center for Creative Studies, she specializes in Mid-Century Modern art and furniture. Ilene is a frequent guest at appraisal shows and a board member for ORT Michigan. Like Terri, she also serves as a grant reviewer for the Michigan Council for Arts & Culture.
